The mid pot is no loss in my opinion. I don't think that a master volume pot is necessary either for
experienced guitarist like ourselves.
besides there was no room.
I'd already ganged the boost switch with the treble control. thinking about that, I hope I
never have to change it quickly because, although chickenheads have the necessary MoJo,
they're crap for that application.
Seriously, because I've played acoustic guitar (badly) for a number of years, I've become used
to creating variances in sound through attack. This amp, because of it's simplicity and dynamics, is perfect for this.
It's a little too sophisticated for beginners.
The settings without the boost sound lovely. Plenty of volume, just a hint of overdrive
with my guitar when leaned on, perfect.
The singing I mentioned, sounds, as though there is a reverb unit in line... just turned on.
This is to do with the 6SL7, because I have substituted the 6SN7 with a 12AU7 and it is still there.
I've been trying my hand at slide guitar playing lately. With the guitar on bridge pickup and the
amp on boost the sound is so good it brings the neighbours running to the door.
Very Ry Cooder off Get Rythm................righteous I think the term is.
